Audition and Qualifications Information

Auditions for the GWYOA 2009-2010 season will be announced in May 2009.

• Elementary Strings is open to string players entering 4th, 5th or 6th grade in Fall 2009.
• Junior Strings is open to string players entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in Fall 2009.
• Youth Symphony is open to string players entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2009, and brass, winds and percussion players entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2009.
• Auditions are open to any student living in the greater Westchester County area, including Putnam County, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Please come prepared to play scales (whichever you have prepared), as well as a piece you are working on that best demonstrates your present skill level. You will also be asked to sight-read.

All auditions are on a first-come first-served basis, and are held in the Academic Arts building at Westchester Community College. For directions to WCC, click here.
