Stanley C. “Staś” Chmielewski
and Dr. Herman L. Eberhardt
were proud GWYOA grandparents. This fund was established in their memories to provide support for talented young musicians who need financial assistance to participate in the GWYOA.

Staś Chmielewski spent his career in photography and industrial design. A native of Philadelphia and U. S. Navy veteran, he spent much of his career at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Corp., for whom he traveled extensively in Europe and Asia designing, building and installing trade show exhibits. Staś and his late wife, Mary Jaskowiak Chmielewski, raised three daughters in Haddonfield, New Jersey. In later life he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, his family and dogs. A lifelong music enthusiast, Staś played keyboards and sang in his church choir, and enjoyed every genre from baroque to jazz.

Herman L. Eberhardt emigrated to the United States from Austria at age three and was the first member of his family to graduate from high school, college, and medical school. He and his wife, Dr. Mary Rando Eberhardt, operated a family medical practice in Roslyn, Pennsylvania for over 35 years. Together they raised a family of three daughters and two sons. Herman took great pleasure in travel, golf, his family, and learning history, and nurtured a lifelong appreciation of classical music, with a special love of opera.
